• Plant your flower bulbs in the fall or early winter
• Plant in borders or containers in sun or partial shade
• Plant the bulbs three times the size of the bulb deep
• Space the bulbs two times the size of the bulb apart
• Plant the bulbs in well drained soil
• Plant the bulbs with the pointed side facing upwards
Best Amaryllis Bulbs for Holiday Blooming
Amaryllis are exceptionally impressive and easy to grow flowers. Their magnificent, large, trumpet-shaped blossoms can measure up to eight inches across and are available in an assortment of dazzling colors. Not only are the stalks impressive, but the stalks are equally deserving of attention. From the bulb, one sturdy, tall stalk can grow between 18 and 36 inches! How to Plant Amaryllis Bulbs
Choose Planting Method
Water Vase Method: Use a vase with water and rocks, but do not submerge the bulb—only the roots should be in water.
Soil Pot Method: Plant amaryllis bulbs in pots with soil.
Select the Right Pot
For individual bulbs, choose pots that are 1-2 inches wider than the bulb.
For multiple bulbs, use a larger, long pot.
Ensure Drainage
Make sure your container has proper drainage holes to prevent water buildup.
Position the Bulb(s)
Place the bulb so the top half is above the soil surface.
For multiple bulbs, keep at least two inches between each bulb and from the pot’s edge.
Secure the Bulb
Amaryllis is top-heavy, so firmly pack soil around the bulbs to keep them stable.
Provide Sunlight
Place the pot or vase in a sunny location.
For indoor plants, rotate regularly for balanced sunlight exposure.
